Ballarat Grammar School

Visitors to Ballarat Grammar, especially those who know good schools, often comment on the special friendliness of the School. They sense a real openness and warmth as they are greeted by students going about the campus. Likewise, our young men and women undertaking projects in the wider community regularly attract compliments as being especially enthusiastic and respectful.

What makes for such happy and confident students? A particularly co-operative learning environment is fostered by staff, many of whose long service at the School is testament to their deep professional commitment. Learning endeavours are underpinned by a comprehensive wellbeing program, supported by accredited Chaplains and counselling staff. The success of these is seen not only in outstanding academic results, but also in positive outcomes in sporting, artistic and cultural pursuits, and, for example, in students’ active concern for the environment.

As an active member of the Round Square, Grammar has a profound commitment to international understanding, with over fifty students each year embarking on overseas exchanges or service projects. Service at the local level is part of all students’ experience, and a practical reflection of our Anglican faith.
