We offer courses to suit most levels (unfortunately, not beginner) and have a team of caring, helpful and professionally qualified teachers. You will find our course prices competitive and all of our courses are accredited by the British Council, which is your guarantee of quality.

There are 6 main types of English course offered at ncn:

General English Courses

The primary aim of these courses is to help you develop your English skills in a fun, enjoyable atmosphere. Our students are serious about learning English, and our teachers use modern teaching methods, equipment, course books and other authentic materials to help you to improve your language skills. A typical weekly programme includes a range of activities:

  • Vocabulary
  • Grammar
  • Listening
  • Pronunciation
  • Reading
  • Video Activity
  • Speaking

Special English Courses

Short courses – These are very popular with International students. They are carefully designed to suit the needs of the individual to prepare them for English Language examinations relevant to the particular course. One-to-one short courses can also be arranged.

You can study towards FCE (First Certificate in English), CAE (Certificate in Advanced English) and Preparation for IELTS.

These courses are ideal for students studying at ncn for a whole term.

Social Activities

The social programme enables students to visit new places and to help them make new friends. Each term the programme includes organised excursions to places of interest such as Stratford, York and Cambridge. We also organise sporting activities, party nights and discos.

Enrichment

All Full time students in the college can take part in this programme, which offers free activities and courses on a Wednesday afternoon. The activities range from Sports, to arts and crafts, and even first aid.
